Two MSc Positions – Nitrogen-Functionalized Biochar for Carbon Capture and Low-Carbon Materials (Memorial University)
We (Dr. Stephanie MacQuarrie, Dr. Kris Poduska, Dr. Xiomara Sanchez-Castillo, and Dr. Kelly Hawboldt) are recruiting two MSc students at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) to work on the nitrogen functionalization and surface tailoring of biochars for CO₂/CH₄ capture and for use in low-carbon construction materials. This work would be conducted through Memorial University with co-supervision from Cape Breton University.

Funding & start date
Fully funded MSc stipends at competitive MUN rates (for 2 years), supported by an NSERC Alliance grant and partner contributions.
Start date: flexible; positions will remain open until filled.
